Some roles have the ability to recruit new members into their sub-faction. There are usually strict rules as to what roles can be added to each sub-faction (the most common being "Village member"). These sub-factions usually win alongside another faction so long as they satisfy a sub-faction victory requirement.

All sub-factions share a night chat with their fellow members.

If two recruiters try to recruit the same person on the same night, the action will fail without consuming the recruit opportunity.

Sub-factions

Children of Acer

Recruiter Role: Child of Acer

Other affiliated Roles: N/A

The Children of Acer are a village sub-faction. However, they all have the Ancestral Lycanthropy aura which makes them appear as Wolfpack to any alignment check.

The Child of Acer can recruit any living village player, so long as they have the "Ancestral Lycanthropy" aura and if they are not already in another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit any killing evil, the recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Illuminati

Recruiter Role: Illuminati Leader

Other affiliated Roles: Illuminati Lookout

The Illuminati are a village sub-faction. They win with the village so long as there is only 1 or fewer living Mason players left alive.

The Illuminati Leader can recruit any living village player, so long as they are not already within another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit a Wolfpack member, a Vampire/Vampire Master or a Demon Lord/Demon Prince, their recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Inquisition

Recruiter Role: Inquisition Leader

Other affiliated Roles: Inquisitor

The Inquisition are a village sub-faction. They win with the village so long as no Witchcraft players are left alive (including village witchcraft roles).

The Inquisition Leader can recruit any living village player, so long as they are not already within another sub-faction AND are not a Witchcraft role. If they attempt to recruit a Wolfpack member, a Vampire/Vampire Master or a Demon Lord/Demon Prince, their recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Masons

Recruiter Role: Mason Leader, Mason Sergeant

Other affiliated Roles: Lost Mason

The Masons are a village sub-faction. They win with the village so long as there is only 1 or fewer living Illuminati players left alive.

The Mason Leader can recruit any living village player, so long as they are not already within another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit a Wolfpack member, a Vampire/Vampire Master or a Demon Lord/Demon Prince, their recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Bloodmoon Cult

Recruiter Role: Cult Leader

Other affiliated Roles: Blood Priest, Blood Seer, Cult Follower, Cultist

The Bloodmoon Cult are a Wolfpack sub-faction. They win with the Wolfpack but they do not share a night chat with them.

The Cult Leader can recruit any living village player, so long as they have been afflicted with Lycanthropy and do not belong to another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit any killing evil, the recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Brethren of Blight

Recruiter Role: Brethren Shepherd

Other affiliated Roles: Fanatic, Deacon

The Brethren of Blight are a Demon sub-faction. They win with the Demons but they do not share a night chat with them.

The Brethren Shepherd can recruit any living village player, so long as they are Damned and do not belong to another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit any killing evil, the recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Factions

Outlaws

Recruiter Role: Outlaw Leader

The Outlaws are a separate Neutral faction that can win with any other faction, so long as they control 50% of all the items by the end of the game.

The Outlaw Leader can recruit any living village player so long as they do not belong to another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit any killing evil, the recruit will fail and they will die. If they try to recruit a player that does not fit into either of the previous categories, then the recruit will fail but they will not die.

Wolfpack

Recruiter Role: Blood Priest, Warg's Bracer

Unlike all the other factions and sub-factions mentioned, the Wolfpack does not have a dedicated recruiter role within it's faction. Instead, it requires outside interaction from the Bloodmoon Cult or items such as Warg's Bracer.

If the wolfpack attempt to kill the target of a Blood Priest, or a player holding a Warg's Bracer, that player becomes a member of the Wolfpack, becoming a Werewolf.

Vampires

Recruiter Role: Vampire, Vampire Countess, Vampire Master

The Vampires can recruit any living village player, even if that player belongs to another sub-faction. If they attempt to recruit an evil player, they kill that player instead. If the player is protected, then the recruit fails. If 2 vampires attempt to recruit the same person, they both fail and kill their target instead. A player that is recruited successfully cannot be killed by any means during the same night of their recruitment.
