The Familiar is aligned with the specific Vampire that recruited them. They can come in five different variants: Courtesan, Gravedigger, Harlot, Militia or Stalker. They are identical to the village counterpart in every way except their for their alignment.
A Vampire can only recruit Stalker Familiars. If the Vampire dies, the Familiar will be given a target to try and kill. If they succeed, the Vampire player will switch with the Familiar player and assume their avatar.
A Vampire Master can only recruit Gravedigger, Militia or Stalker variants, but it will be random what role the Familiar becomes. If the Vampire Master dies, they will be revived into the avatar of their oldest surviving Familiar during the following morning.
A Vampire Countess can only recruit Courtesan, Gravedigger or Harlot variants, but it will be random what role the Familiar becomes. If the Vampire Countess dies, their oldest surviving Familiar will become the new Vampire Countess.
The conversion from Familiar to Vampire Countess or the revive of the Vampire Master occurs the morning following the death of the Vampire. In the case of a lynch this will be the next day, but if the Vampire is killed at night (eg by ignited Blight or when under the effect of a Potion of Vulnerability) then the conversion will happen immediately the same morning.
