Role Text

You are an Inquisitor. Once per night you can check a player for signs of heresy.

Objectives
Eliminate all evil doers
Eliminate all Heretics before the game ends
Notes
Heretics include, but are not limited to, users of witchcraft (such as the Seer, Protector, Coven)
Your check may also reveal a fanatic player, who may be working towards similar aims as the Inquisition, like a Witch Hunter
Along with the Inquisition Leader, for you to win, there must be no heretics alive when the game ends

Ability message

Tonight you will check (player) for signs of heresy:

(player) is faithful. They can be spared the righteous flame.

or:

(player) is a Heretic. They should burn.

Useful Notes

  • Whether an Inquisitor has a leader or not, they are always part of the Inquisition subfaction, thus their additional win condition is always the same as the inquisition: to kill all witchcraft users, no matter what alignment.
  • Rune holders are not witchcraft users - the rune only makes someone appear as a witchcraft user. The win condition only applies to the role of other players.
  • If an Inquisitor checks a Purifier or a Witch Hunter then their check is altered slightly and they are told that they are "a Fanatic".
