The Displaced

The Displaced is created by being the target of an Essence Thief. To win, they must find the Essence Thief and regain the role that was stolen from them.

Each night, the Displaced can visit one player, living or dead, to try and regain their role. If the target is the Essence Thief, then the Essence Thief will revert back to normal and die while the Displaced will regain their role. If the target is not the Essence Thief, then nothing will happen.

This role mostly appears in speed games, but can appear in player hosted 24 h games.

You are Displaced. Something has stolen your Essence, you must recover it before the game ends

Objectives

Recover your Essence from the Player that stole it and continue with your original win condition

Notes

An Essence Thief has targeted you, you must work out who it was and recover your Essence before the game is over

Each night you may visit a player (living or dead) to search them for your Essence

If you are still Displaced when the game ends, you lose

Useful Notes

• If the role that was stolen has limited uses (such as a Militia), then when the Displaced regains their role all the uses will be refreshed.
• The Displaced can visit the graveyard, so it is possible to regain their role even if the Essence Thief is killed before they are found.
