When a player is purged, they lose whatever role they currently have and replace it with the basic role available to their faction (for example Villager, Werewolf, Acolyte etc).
When a player is purged, they receive the following message:
You feel dazed and confused. Not quite like you used to... You have the feeling that something bad happened to you during the night.
In addition, they will receive a message informing them of their new role.
Night Immune roles are immune to purging.
Alchemist
The Alchemist's action causes a slightly different outcome when they choose to purge a non-Coven role. Instead, the victim's role is changed based on what faction they are and is randomly chosen from the selection available. The options are:
- Village: Villager, Insomniac, Sleepwalker, Lycan, Stalker
- Wolfpack: Werewolf, Shapeshifter
- The Bloodmoon Cult: Cult Follower, Cultist
- Undead: Wight, Ghoul
- Demons: Fanatic
- Vampires (and Familiars): Unpurgeable
