example options available to the player holding Tyr's Shield

Deities are only used in Kingdom games.

There are three known Deities - Tyr, Fenrir and Loki. These powerful gods are able to influence events in the village to the advantage of their loyal followers. Each deity is communed with through a special item. The player with the highest Influence of the faction represented by a specific deity will hold this item.

The power by which a Deity can exert themselves is determined by game state and undisclosed village choices. Devotees of a faction can spend Influence to power-up their Deity when in a battle. The more influence spent, the more likely a particular Deity will be victorious and their action to be carried out.

The Deity abilities change and are not known exactly what will be available options for those holding the items that commune with the Deity.

Tyr

Tyr is the Village Deity and is accessed through Tyr's Shield. The Shield is owned by the player with the most influence in the village, which can be any faction. Therefore it is possible for evil players to weild Tyr's shield.

Following ext-000, a discussion thread on discord was opened to discuss some of the possible options available to Tyr's shield: here (These options may be different in other games, but this thread can serve as an example of possible options)

Fenrir

Fenrir is the Wolfpack Deity and is accessed through Fenrir's Maw, which is held by the highest influence player of the Wolfpack.

Following ext-000, a discussion thread on discord was opened to discuss some of the possible options available to Fenrir's Maw: here (These options may be different in other games, but this thread can serve as an example of possible options)

Loki

Loki is the Coven Deity and is accessed through Loki's Sceptre, which is held by the highest influence player of the Coven.

Following ext-000, a discussion thread on discord was opened to discuss some of the possible options available to Loki's Sceptre: here (These options may be different in other games, but this thread can serve as an example of possible options)

Battles

Each Deity has a base power. This base power is determined by unknown/unspecified game effects and choices the village make. When either Fenrir or Loki have a base power that exceeds Tyr's base power, then they will be able to overpower Tyr in the heavens and send their armies to attack the village.

The player who is holding the Deity item (Fenrir's Maw, Loki's Sceptre) will get to choose an action their god will carry out if they are victorious. These actions cost power and so if they win, the action is carried out and costs that amount of power. If they lose, the action is not carried out and they lose 2x the power cost.

During a battle:

  • Any Aristocrat may elect to attempt to join the attacking Deity's faction
  • All players may pledge influence to fight for the Deity or the Village - let's call the sum of this pledged influence 'Battle Power'

If the attacking Deity wins:

  • The battle choice is enacted
  • The Deity loses the battle choice influence cost
  • If at least one Aristocrat has pledged to join the Deity, the one that pledged the most influence will join that faction.

If the attacking Deity loses:

  • The Deity loses twice the battle choice influence cost
  • No Aristocrat will join the attacking Deity's faction

The battle winner is calculated as such:

Base Evil Deity Power + Deity Battle Power VS Village Battle Power
