The kdm-001 survival guide.

Greetings brave player, do not be daunted by all the shinies within the game. They'll make sense in time. Alternatively they won't and you'll die horribly in game, but you signed up for that anyway. Werewolv.es accepts no liability for loss of life or sanity.

Anyway... some house keeping.

1) Read. The. Bloody. Wiki. https://unofficialhowtoplay.co.uk/index.php/KDM

2) /beta WILL. BE. YOU. FRIEND.

Enable notifications (aka pings, aka push notifications) by clicking the first button at the top (the i). This means when someone calls out @YourName (among other things) you'll get a notification about it. Typing @ and then <TAB> will autocomplete names. On mobile, clicking the name will automatically do this.

Next - within beta you can add notes against players private to you in the player list. Sometimes I use this as an empty note for something susp, as they get a neat little icon next to their name per note.

In the calendar section you can also add bookmarks for timestamps of personal interest.

Last point for the subject of the /beta/ page - summaries. I encourage everyone to use this place to put their own views for the day there, their explanations of how they see things. People can then view the summaries for a catch up of people’s opinions. This also takes away from it being a sole player with the responsibility of being the TL;DR machine. But hey - you do you. If you want to attempt to be the summarising machine for the village, they might send confidence your way...

3) Incoming puppet related items.

As you will have noted, a hefty contingent of wooden folk have descended upon the village. As the Keanu Reeves school for gifted oak has come up against some foundational snags and is yet to open, we needed somewhere for them to park. (Park, trees, geddit? Ah... screw you.)

To welcome our deciduous friends, there will be some additional items available for influence purchase that interact with the string willed .

The first, warm werewolv.es welcome is an item that kills them (we don’t want them to feel left out of the fun). The second - because balance is important - brings them back from the dead like brand new with a 90 day warranty.

Woodcutters Hatchet

Kills any puppet it’s used on. It has a 33% chance to break if it successfully chops. It has no effect against players and will add the ‘HoldingWeapon’ aura to those that have one. (This makes you appear as a killer in relevant checks)

Gepetto’s Toolkit

If you have control of any dead puppets, through role, or item, or otherwise. The toolkit allows you to attempt to resurrect said lifeless hunk of wood via positive thoughts and disney logic. The process isn’t always successful, but other kits might work for the puppet, and the toolkit might have the necessary mojo to bring a different hapless little scamp. Once used successfully, the toolkit is consumed.

Right, that’s probably enough rambling for one dump in your inbox. What? Just the two white russians, why’d you ask?
