The definition of what is and is not a power role can vary from player to player, however it is generally understood to be referring to anyone in the village faction who has a role other than villager. There are some roles such as lycan, sleepwalker and insomniac that may be considered to be power roles by some people as there are ways to distinguish these players from normal villager roles, thus can be verified by others.
Generally speaking the most common definition is that they are a village role that has some kind of additional ability or purpose.
